Velencia is a unique, reclaimed space restored for preferred living in the heart of Tulsa’s historic Maple Ridge.
Ideally located steps from the SoBo district and the iconic Gathering Place, our spacious one-bedroom studios overlook downtown. Velencia living means modern convenience to everything from dining and nightlife to shopping and entertainment. All of our floor plans seamlessly blend clean lines and open concepts with delicately preserved original 1932 building and architectural features.
Innovations such as flush mounted dimmable LEDs, efficient kitchens with induction cook tops and custom movable islands, walk-in closets and full-sized washer dryers make life at the Velencia comfortable and modern. Attention to design details such as hand-scrapped wood floors, custom doors, exposed 1932 brick, light-filtering shades, bold hardware and backlit mirrors set this space apart.
The renovation and design at Velencia was greatly shaped by an interest to preserve and accentuate the historic building’s beautiful and timeless qualities – its brick exterior, large windows, original plaster and brick walls on the interior, and its original hardwood floors – with comfort and luxury built in.
To do this, the buildings were restructured while standing, a feat that took took strength, boldness and confidence in the vision. Clean, bold and contrasting color choices, simplistic yet highly engineered floor plans, material selection – much of which was reclaimed from the building itself – as well as other design decisions lended themselves to this ambition.
The name “Velencia” was inspired by a similar name of Latin origin that means “strong,” which derives from the Spanish city’s Latin word Valentia meaning “valor” and is also a form of the Roman names Valentinus and Valentina. Gold accents weaves throughout the property and Velencia’s brand – a Roman symbol of prosperity – and the “V” incorporates a laurel wreath, which was worn as a symbol of triumph in Ancient Rome.
